Vicente del Bosque did not lead the Spanish national team to victory simply by chance. He knew from the beginning that la Roja was going to win. Why? Because he had promised his country the victory so greatly anticipated for so long: the Football World Cup.
Not only had he decided that 2010 would be the year marking the apotheosis of Spanish football, but had promised as much to his son Arturo who suffers from Down’s syndrome, a chromosal disorder caused by the presence of all or part of an extra 21st chromosome that affects the psychological balance of children and adolescents and prevents them from joining the world of work.
Vicente therefore actively supports the Fundacíon del Síndrome del Down with a view to helping his son eradicate this terrible condition, together with all children enrolled on the support program run by the foundation.
As a testimony to his support, Vicente del Bosque has decided to auction this coming 4th of October in Madrid, his Bovet Sportster Chronograph worn throughout the World Cup.
This timepiece, already considered by some to be a cult object, is a unique piece, manufactured by Bovet.
The sale will take place in the auction room of the Ansorena Auction House in Madrid in the presence of Vicente del Bosque, Mrs. María Barón, the president of the foundation, Mr. Pascal Raffy, the owner of Bovet, and around 100 guests and journalists mainly from the world of sport. All proceeds from the sale will be donated on the same evening to the foundation.
The silent auction will begin on September 10th on the Ansorena website, giving the chance to all enthusiasts to become the future owner of the Sportster Chronograph «Vicente del Bosque».
Bovet is proud to take part in this event and would like to thank, once again, Vicente del Bosque for his initiative and congratulate him on an outstanding sporting achievement that has allowed millions of Spaniards to become, in turn, Campeones del mundo.
