Jaeger-LeCoultre, the fine watchmaking Manufacture, together with its official agent in Argentina Simonetta Orsini last Tuesday threw for the fourth year in a row a lavish party for charity at which polo players were the protagonists.
As in previous years, the fine watchmaking Manufacture donated 50 dollars for each handicap goal of the polo players present at the event, taking 10 as the handicap for sports men and women from other disciplines. Thanks to a total of 436 goals, the amount raised reached USD 21,800, a sum which was donated to the directors of the Ideas del Sur Foundation by Jerome Lambert, CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre.
The brand’s four international ambassadors, Argentine polo players Adolfo Cambiaso, Eduardo Novillo Astrada, Lía Salvo and Clare Milford Haven, were present at the event, along with a large number of players who are either still active or retired, such as Hilario Ulloa, Alejandro Novillo Astrada, Horacio Heguy, Eduardo Heguy, Alberto Pedro Heguy, Gonzalo Pieres, Agustín Merlos, Héctor Merlos and Sebastián Merlos, and others.
Other personalities attending the party were international model and photographer Astrid Muñoz, Agustín Pichot, Erik Lamela, Sergio Goycochea, Luciana Aymar, Agustina Cherri, Mariana Arias, Karina Jelinek and Lola Ponce.
The Ideas del Sur Foundation will use the money raised to continue its work in the field of public health, and in helping disabled or deprived children. It currently provides food, medical equipment and social protection through its four institutions: Casa Cuna, Olimpíadas Especiales Argentinas, Cáritas Laferrere and Ciudad de Bolívar. It also runs a child sponsorship programme which targets special cases requiring urgent attention.
