Kairos 2012 With a New Face
Following the successful launch of the Pacific Line and the Lady Collection, 2012 sees the traditional Chronoswiss line Kairos heading back to the spotlight. Alongside a new version of the Kairos Chronograph, Chronoswiss has also reworked the classic Kairos Automatic and Kairos Lady models. These new “faces” are currently being presented at Baselworld 2012.
Design with tradition: The classic three-handed watch Kairos is the Chronoswiss model that kicked it all off. The reinterpretation of 2012 references this history, though it includes little concessions to legibility. Among the classic values, one finds the blued, hand-polished steel Breguet Losange hands ― a Chronoswiss exclusivity ― alongside a finely guilloché dial crafted in solid Sterling silver and the date.
Attention to detail: These new versions of the Kairos models also consistently continue the perfection of their appearances within their cases. The transparent sapphire crystal case back so typical of Chronoswiss allows a view of the highly precise, robust automatic movement with ball bearing rotor.
Alongside the Kairos Automatic with its 40 mm diameter, the Kairos Lady in an extra-small 34 mm version is also available. With their perfect shapes and new faces, the 2012 Kairos models prove once again Chronoswiss’s competent ability to design classically mechanical timepieces.
Tradition Calls
Chronoswiss Presents the New Kairos Chronograph
Back to the roots: After the successful launch of the Pacific line and the Lady Collection, it is now time to add to the most original Chronoswiss line, the traditional Kairos. At Baselworld 2012, alongside a new version of the Kairos model, visitors will be treated to a new chronograph version of this classic.
Back in time: With the new Kairos Chronograph, Chronoswiss is turning back the hands of time a little without stopping them entirely. In the 1990s, Chronoswiss had already launched a model by this name with an off-centered display at the 3 o’clock position. The Kairos Chronograph of the next generation is inspired by the design language of its predecessor, but is outfitted with a central display that is ultimately legible. Additionally, it offers great functionality with a day/date window at the 3 o’clock position.
Design with tradition: Even in terms of aesthetics, the Kairos Chronograph of the 21st century remains on par with its role model. Stylishly decorated with the guilloché pattern so characteristic of this line – here in a lavish wave figure – the solid Sterling silver dial is a real eye-catcher. The chronograph has become entirely contemporary boasting a proud new case size of 42 mm, which remains entirely in line with its traditional look. Whether elegant in a solid red gold case, sporty in stainless steel, or robust in an anthracite-colored DLC coating, the new interpretation is a resounding success. This version of the Kairos Chronograph is all set to conquer a new generation of watch lovers.
Pacific Color
New Products in the Pacific Line
Following the successful launch of the Pacific Line last year, Chronoswiss sends a fresh wind through its color schemes in 2012: there is now a lot more variety both on the dial and the case.
The wild blue yonder: In addition to the dial variations already launched, the Pacific is immediately available in a noble blue tone. Inspired by the body of water that gives it its name – the Pacific Ocean with its unfathomable depths – the color flows between blue and grey nuances. The high quality sunburst pattern on the dial characteristic of this well designed family ensures lively reflections. The new color scheme lends the versatile watch an unmistakable visual that is underscored by a leather strap in dark ocean blue that was made just for this timepiece.
Golden times: Even the case shows its true colors and alongside stainless steel is now available in an exclusive two-tone combination. A bezel crafted in solid 18-karat red gold ensures a stylish upgrade. The hands and applied dial elements are also crafted in precious gold, thus effectively setting themselves apart from the dial in galvanic black or brown. This variation is available in two sizes, as the Pacific in 40 mm and the Grand Pacific in a 43 mm case.
Dark side: The Pacific Chronograph is also available in an attractive new variation in 2012. In addition to the case in pure stainless steel, it is now available in a version featuring a DLC-coated anthracite-colored bezel and silver-plated dial, strengthening its sporty character.
