Valbray - April Newsletter

EVENT
Baselworld, one of the most exciting milestones in the calendar of watchmaking, closed its doors on the 15th of March, being a great success for our brand. Valbray participated for the third consecutive time, showcasing its collections among the independent watch brands in the Palace Hall. Journalists and retailers alike welcomed warmly our new Oculus V.02 Grand date collection, which widens our offer to include today 13 references. Baselworld 2012 signals for Valbray the beginning of a new era, with an increasing presence on the international markets through new boutique openings planned in the coming months.

TIMEPIECE
During Baselworld, the new Oculus V.02 Grand date collection was officially unveiled. Its singularity is that the patented diaphragm system of Valbray has been restudied to allow intermediate circular openings during its operation. It thus becomes a cursor to the dial underneath that features a combination of petite seconde and grand date, while when it’s closed by a 90o rotation of the bezel, the watch is transformed into a two-hand. With a case smaller by 3mm (now at 43mm diameter), a calfskin bracelet with colored lining and stitching and a pin buckle, the V.02 is a more accessibly priced collection, available on the market in the second half of 2012, in five different models. R & D
After the V.01 collection, with its intriguing details in red (V.01 PVD), in DLC-black (V.01 Titanium Full Black) or even in stainless steel (V.01 Achromatic Grey), the V.02 models are each characterized by their own “trademark” color: tangerine orange, lemon yellow, Valbray blue, taupe and Bordeaux red. Anodizing, one of the techniques used along with transferring to achieve a luminous and strong color, is used for the first time on a Valbray timepiece. The palette of each watch is then further enhanced by various texture treatments, such as sable-blasting and polishing, to name but a few, and completed by the contrast between the polished metal (stainless steel or pink gold) and the PVD elements (in graphite gray or black).

During April, the press embraced with enthusiasm the creations of Valbray. Articles wrote on these pieces are featured in REVOLUTION SWITZERLAND, MONTRES MAGAZINE and ARMBAND UHREN, while on the web Valbray is featured in BUSINESS MONTRES ET JOAILLERIE, PASSIONMONTRES.COM, IL GIORNALE.IT and PAM65.RU. Last but not least,WATCH MAGAZINE from Netherlands included our V.01 Titanium Red Gold among the 100 watches of the year.
