JEANRICHARD - A PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE

TWO DAY EVENT : 19-20 NOVEMBER, 2012

On 19-20 November 2012, JEANRICHARD invited the international press to La-Chaux de-Fonds, the historic centre of watchmaking, for an introduction to the values and spirit of the brand. Guests discovered the new identity of JEANRICHARD, encapsulated in the slogan “A Philosophy of Life” and demonstrated in its new collections.

New identity, new orientation...
JEANRICHARD described its new identity as turned towards the future but forever shaped by the past, and where the greatest pleasures are discovery and accomplishment, together with fine craftsmanship and complex mechanics. Entitled “A Philosophy of Life”, it is fully expressed in the four collections that were presented to the guests on their pilgrimage to the watchmaking Jura: 1681, Terrascope, Aquascope, and Aeroscope. It is also represented by four individuals whose values and experiences show the philosophy being applied to everyday life.

New orientation, new exploration...
Over the two days, the guests were taken on a wonderful journey through time. Starting with the past, they visited Daniel Jeanrichard’s birthplace, saw where he served his apprenticeship, and took a look at the family farm. From Le Locle to Bressels, through the Vallée de la Sagne, the guests experienced the flavour of bygone centuries on horse-drawn carts, enjoyed the hot wine typical of the region, and warmed themselves before the fire in the Jeanrichard family home.

New exploration, new adventure…
Willy Schweizer, curator of the JEANRICHARD and Girard- Perregaux Museum, tells the amazing story of Daniel Jeanrichard whose passion for watchmaking took him on a lifelong journey. The 1681 collection, the purest contemporary culmination of all the watchmaking expertise of the past, is a clear illustration of this philosophy of life.
