Galet Micro-Rotor: a mechanism with pawl-fitted automatic winding
The unidirectional automatic winding with pawl-fitted micro-rotor system is a case in point. This particular mechanism is closer to traditional watchmaking and more efficient. The guilloché 18K gold micro-rotor is positioned between the main plate and the micro-rotor bridge, fixed on an axis between two jewels. This disposition allows for maximum stability when compared to a conventional micro-rotor. Moreover the overall movement thickness is reduced resulting in an unobstructed view.
This innovative horological construction, enhanced by a natural escapement, results in an increased winding potential of the micro mass of approximately one third, thus resulting in a power reserve of 72 hours. The Galet Micro rotor is therefore perfectly equipped to achieve considerable chronometrical performances.
