Laurent Ferrier Genève Creatively Classic
Spotlight on the Micro-Rotor
Want to know lies hidden inside the Galet Micro-Rotor? A new film reveals the slightest details of this calibre developed by Laurent Ferrier. Its silicon double direct-impulse lever escapement fitted directly on the balance comes to life before our very eyes under the watchmaker’s nimble fingers. This is followed by a segment focused on the assembly of the pawl-fitted micro-rotor with its guilloché gold oscillating weight and its winding system equipped with a unique shock-absorbing system. These close-up shots also provide an exceptional view of the sophisticated movement finishing. A must-see!
One-of-a-kind creation: an entirely diamond-pavé Galet Secret
After grand feu enamel comes the turn of sparkling gemstones. Heralded as the “custom-made” watch, the Galet Secret lends itself wonderfully to all types of decorative art. On this model, 154 baguette-cut diamonds are arranged in mysteriously set arches. They represent no less than 4.60 cts of precious stones, rigorously selected for their radiance, size and cut. At the heart of the watch beats the reliable high-performance tourbillon with double balance-spring movement - thereby forming a unique ensemble featuring a stunning blend of High Jewellery and Fine Watchmaking.
Besançon observatory, custodian of precision
Precision rating holds an important place among Laurent Ferrier’s founding values. After being entirely made in Geneva, the brand’s watches make a stop in France, at the Astronomical Observatory in Besançon. This state-run institution has for almost a century and a half been an authority in the field of time measurement – to which Laurent Ferrier submits its fully cased-up mechanical movements. Their reliability and above all their rating regularity are duly tested for 16 consecutive days, in five positions and at three different temperatures. Successfully passing these trials earns them the official title of “chronometers”.
