Girard-Perregaux - The Young Watchmakers at the Aletsch Glacier

Le 11-02-2013

How great is "Great"? Try 4,195 meters high (13,763 feet) and 23 kilometers long (14 miles), covering 120 square kilometers (46 square miles) at a thickness of 1 kilometer (3,300 feet). That's some serious ice — and the Aletsch, the largest glacier in the Alps, was without question the most remote, picturesque and extreem stop along the Young Watchmakers Tour. The immensity and stoicism of the glacier, in contrast with the frenetic cities comprising the rest of the tour, made it the perfect place to juxtapose stark natural beauty with Girard-Perregaux's man-made elegance.
