Quinting was at the Annual Salon 'Jewels of the World' in Azerbaijan
This year in May the Annual “Jewels of the World” Fair took place for the first time in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. Bridging Europe and Asia, the city uniquely combines the grandeur of the ancient and classical heritage with the contemporary glamour, avant-garde technologies and the futuristic skyline. It does not come to a surprise that many refer to it as the Jewel of Caspian. Haute Horlogerie was proudly represented by Quinting.

The idea of bringing the Jewels of the World to the Jewel of Caspian came quite naturally and was further reinforced by the city’s dynamic, ambitious and vibrant lifestyle and atmosphere. The Jewels of the World team was able to come up with a unique concept, refined by Patrick Hourcade, combining precious stones and extraordinary pieces, and to put it in motion for less than 6 months. The choice of the Four Seasons hotel as a venue also came very naturally. Beautifully designed, it charmed us at first sight. With its unraveled hospitality and luxury Beaux – Arts style the hotel provides a spectacular background the world’s famous jewelry houses to present their masterpieces.
The best jewelry houses around the world
Among the chosen participants of the Salon were such famous jewelry houses like: Adler, Graff, De Beers, Adler, Charles Oudin, Jacob & Co, Jahan, Pejmani, Moussaieff, Sabbadini, SHAKH, David Morris, Chatila. Haute Horlogerie was represented by the Quinting manufacture from Geneva (Switzerland). Its participation in the Salon was logic. Since 2006 this brand is represented and has a Name in the luxury market of Baku. Many special guests came to the exhibition to see and appreciate novelties from the Quinting.
A national ambassador
Remarkable is that the brand ambassador was international sales director of the Quinting, Leyla Bakhshaliyeva, she is Baku original. She is well aware of watch enthusiasts need in Azerbaijan, and she with great proud showed the unique Quinting watches.
Quinting - Impossible to copy
The Quinting watches are the only 100% transparent watches cannot be copied because of the complexity of the unique sapphire movement. The manufacture was founded in 2000. It was created in Geneva by the five engineers– three watchmakers, one automotive engineer, and one electromechanical research engineer, Pascal Berclaz, current President of Quinting – decided to attempt to achieve the impossible: create a completely transparent chronograph. 7 years of research and 15 million dollars of investment were necessary to take on the challenge and a totally transparent chronograph with a sapphire movement, unique to the world, was created. This feat was immediately awarded by the prestigious “Prix Officiel de la Revue des Montres.” Quinting’s movement is composed of a superposition of sapphire discs, stationary and mobile, the distance between each sapphire measures 0,08 to 0,1 mm. Clients are Bill Clinton, Kofi Annan, Vladimir Putin, Sepp Blatter, and the Swiss Government.
Perpetual Innovation
After thirteen years spent surprising the watch making community with its incredible technical challenges, the Swiss Manufacture keeps moving on. You certainly remember:
- the launch of the first totally see-through chronograph in 2000,
- the first movement compensating the synergy effects in 2006,
- the first mysterious Dior watches in 2009
- the first true moon phase in the watch industry in 2012.
Each one of those prowess existed and keeps existing thanks to Quinting.
