The Cordova Province Jewellers, Silversmiths and Watchmakers Association, San Eloy, organises the International Jewellery Meeting in Cordoba, Spain, from October 14th to the 20th, in the context of a city considered one of the most beautiful cultural and architectural gems in the world as well as the city par excellence in terms refers Spanish jewellery.
During this week of October the Jewel is the protagonist in all the planned activities. The program starts on the 14th with the opening of two remarkable exhibitions: Antique Jewellery from the XVIII century and Elio Berhanyer´s private collection, in two unique places, Palacio de Viana and the Mosque, respectively. They will be open to the general public throughout the week.
The program continues with technical workshops from the 14th to the 17th that will focus on topics of great importance for the jewellery industry and its future. They will address significant aspects of new technologies in the digital environment adapted to jewellery and fashion, e-commerce and social networking applied to this industry, online sales and business opportunities, internationalisation of firms, fashion and trends, design, main jewellery firms and security monitoring in jewellery. The Technical Workshops about Internationalization is supported under the program of European Union funds, Feder funds.
In parallel to these technical workshops, on the 15th and the 16th there will take place an Inverted Trade Mission, where foreign buyers invited by the organisation will participate and have the opportunity to see ‘first hand’ the creative and competitive offer of a select group of Cordovan jewellery companies that are already exporting in many countries. The visit of a selected group of international journalists is also expected, to reflect on the event.
In addition, from July to September the 16th the inscription to participate in the International Jewellery Design Contest 2013 is open to either professionals with proven experience in the jewellery sector and new talent. The prize will be awarded in the framework of the meeting, on October 16th. Afterwards, the designs will be exhibited to the public in the Jewellery Park from October 17th.
Professional activities are complemented by a cultural program including a night visit to the Mosque, an equestrian show in the Royal Stables and a visit to Victoria Market, ending with a Jewellery Show-Catwalk in Palacio de la Merced.
All of this is in the context of another gem, Cordoba. This meeting has the support of the major institutions within Cordoba (Cordoba City Council, County Council, Cordoba Business Confederation (CECO), Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cordoba and Jewellery Park), and aims to become a unique reference that ensures the professional visitor the most complete offer in everything related to the sector.
