Perrelet @ SIAR 2013

From October 1st to 3rd, Perrelet will be one of the protagonists in the SIAR (SALON INTERNACIONAL ALTA RELOJERIA), the exclusive event dedicated to Fine Watchmaking, held in the prestigious salons of the Four Seasons Hotel in Mexico City and featuring the creations of over 50 brands.

Perrelet is taking part in this upscale event for the fourth time, presenting its 2013 collections to a public composed of watchmaking devotees, with a particular focus on the brand’s most significant new models, the Turbine Chrono and the Turbillon – representing the most recent evolutions of its iconic double rotor watch. The world of the Turbine Chrono has inspired the design of the Perrelet booth that features a contemporary style in tribute to the Turbine model that has paved the way for horological complications and stimulated the brand’s creativity.

Twenty or so CEOs of the exhibitor brands will be present in the show, including for the first time the new Perrelet CEO Gerald Roden. It has now become an annual tradition for the SIAR to host a representative selection of the leading exponents of the international watchmaking scene.

With the Turbine Chrono and the Turbillon, Perrelet displays its expertise through enriching the double rotor watch with two of the best-loved horological complications and thereby introducing some surprising technical and aesthetic features.

Turbine Chrono: Perrelet has successfully given rise to this original creation featuring a series of cleverly superimposed effects. The chronograph measurements are provided by a central seconds chronograph hand and a particularly innovative 60-minute counter. The former runs over a large inner bezel surrounding the dial, while the latter is composed of two juxtaposed sapphire crystal elements. A graduated mobile disk turns in the center of a fixed ring marked with a red arrow bearing the inscription “min” and pointing to the recorded times.

Turbillon: this name stands for a Tur(bine) with a (tour)billon. The Turbillon debuts a refined turbine carved out of noble sapphire. The transparent blades discreetly enliven the dial and unexpected reveal the brand-new tourbillon from Perrelet. The prestigious mechanism incorporates an innovative escapement with an oxidized silicon wheel and lever, at the heart of an exclusive self-winding movement.

Now in its seventh edition, Latin America’s most important watch fair has been welcoming over 17,000 visitors since 2007, making it a prestigious event that holds its own on the trade calendar alongside the must-see Baselworld and SIHH shows.
