Another exceptional Patek Philippe offered in the sale is the earliest known Ref. 3448 with leap-year indicator appearing on the market for the first time. Produced in 1976, four years before the Ref. 3450, this example was entered into the Patek Philippe archives as a Ref. 3448 but already had the leap-year indicator of the later 3450, making this example the earliest known 3448. The 18K yellow gold wristwatch features a perpetual calendar, moon phases and Roman numerals for leap-year indication. Kept in private hands and only worn on rare occasions, this example is arguably one of the rarest and most desirable Ref. 3448's available on the market today. It is accompanied by the Extract from the Archives.
