Christie’s is set to hold its online-only jewelry sale, ‘Statement Jewels’, from February 25 to March 6. The online auction includes over 80 lots with price points accessible to a wide range of collectors, with estimates starting at US$258. The ‘Statement Jewels’ auction offers an eclectic array of colored stones, diamonds, jadeites, cultured pearls, watches and more.
‘Statement Jewels’ is part of Christie’s efforts to develop innovative sales to provide jewelry lovers with an exclusive opportunity to acquire unique pieces from private collectors. This initiative follows the milestone Christie’s achieved back in 2013, when it achieved its highest ever annual result for jewelry with US$678.3 million.
Highlights from the ‘Statement Jewels’ online-only auction include a set of ruby and diamond jewelry by Van Cleef & Arpels estimated at US$5,000 – US$7,500, a set of emerald and diamond jewelry by Chaumet estimated at US$2,000 – US$3,000, a set of ruby and diamond jewelry by Van Cleef & Arpels US$2,000 – US$3,000, a pair of ruby and diamond earrings estimated at US$5,000 – US$7,500, and a ruby and diamond wristwatch by Chopard estimated at US$3,800 – US$6,500.
