Italian professional motorcycle racer said he was delighted to be at la Mostra del Cinema di Venizia being himself a cinema fan. Official partner, Jaeger-LeCoultre will be actively involved in all the festivities of the “Mostra”.

I am delighted to be at la Mostra del Cinema di Venizia being myself a cinema fan. As a matter of fact, whenever I want to relax, I enjoy dvd, and even more when I am with friends. Lately, during the few spare time I have, I am watching cult movies from 70’ or 80’s. For the moment, I am concentrating on an important film, from the MotoGP championship, and this keeps me busy for the whole day.., This is also why I am so delighted to be here in Venice, with friends and celebrities from the cinema world. I thank Jaeger-LeCoultre, principal sponsor from La Mostra, and la Biennale to offer me a day into cinema, as it is so rare… Venice is such a particular city, and being gifted to see and visit during Mostra make her even more beautiful.

Jaeger-LeCoultre celebrates its four years of partnership with the most glamorous of all film festivals – the “Mostra” in Venice – by adopting an even higher profile during the event highlights. From August 27th to September 6th 2008, the famous Swiss Haute Horlogerie brand will be actively involved in all the festivities, ranging from the famous Golden Lion prize-giving ceremony to the celebration of the film-making heritage, as well as adorning the stars on hand for the screening of their film.

1833-2008 : 175 years of history
A major player in watchmaking history, Jaeger-LeCoultre is celebrating its 175th anniversary this year. The Grande Maison in the Vallée de Joux is taking this opportunity to reread some of the finest pages in its ongoing epic and to write some even more beautiful ones. The Manufacture has an impressive range of world firsts, superlatives and legendary models to its credit, including the Reverso, the Duoplan, the Master Control, the Memovox Polaris, the Gyrotourbillon I and the Atmos.

In 2008, around 1000 people mastering over 40 watchmaking professions and over 20 cutting-edge technologies will continue to pay tribute to the pioneering spirit of the House founders by creating new masterpieces in harmony with the grand watchmaking tradition. In 2010, pursuing the multiple extensions around Antoine LeCoultre’s original workshop, Jaeger-LeCoultre will welcome a new building providing 9,000 square metres of additional workshops.
