_Montblanc's Global “Signature for Good” Initiative Raises $4,356,050 USD to Support UNICEF's Education Programs for Children
On December 3, 2010, Montblanc will donate $4,356,050 USD to UNICEF as a result of its record-breaking fundraising efforts from the Montblanc “Signature for Good” initiative to benefit UNICEF. The check will be presented at Miami's Raleigh Hotel during Art Basel Miami Beach and will be accepted by Caryl M. Stern, President and CEO of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF at the children's beach brunch event in South Beach, Miami.
When Montblanc launched its “Signature for Good” initiative in early 2009 to benefit UNICEF's education and literacy programs for children around the world, Montblanc had pledged to raise $1.5 million by May 2010. Eighteen months later, through various global fundraising initiatives, an impressive $4,356,050 has been raised.
The Montblanc event hosted by CEO Lutz Bethge, International UNICEF Ambassador Susan Sarandon, socialite Barbara Becker and TV personality Louis Aguirre, will emphasize the importance of quality basic education for all children. Montblanc will invite a local elementary school to join in the daytime festivities with children from the Miami area enjoying a Montblanc arts & culture program together with the fun of sand castles, balloons and ice cream.
Montblanc's ongoing commitment to arts & culture, and its support of numerous cultural programs internationally, make Art Basel Miami Beach the perfect backdrop for this presentation. For its global “Signature for Good” initiative, Montblanc developed a unique collection of writing instruments, jewellery and accessories to help raise funds to support UNICEF in their work to provide a quality education to all children. $4,356,050 USD total is the final result of Montblanc's global initiative to benefit UNICEF, which was raised between June 1, 2009 and May 31, 2010 when the initiative ended
